Why was I refused monoclonal antibody treatment for covid?

The Daily Herald - 1/6/2022

Recently I started to show symptoms of covid-19. The symptoms indicated I have the delta variant. So I sent a message on MyChart and requested that I receive the monoclonal antibody therapy. I was refused the therapy simply because the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says it may not be effective for omicron. So the Everett Clinic made a blanket policy decision to not use the therapy at all no matter the variant.

I didn't ask for the therapy out of hand. I have chronic asthma, type 2 diabetes, and had open heart surgery a year ago. I am vaccinated, but my symptoms were severe almost immediately. I am 73 and at high risk for serious complications from covid-19

But after several messages and a phone call all got was the party line: "The CDC has determined that monoclonal antibodies may be ineffective for omicron." So the Everett Clinic is denying treatment for all variants! This not only makes no sense but is also immoral.
