Hays County COVID-19 tracker: 1 new death, 82 more cases reported since Friday

Here's the latest on the coronavirus pandemic in Hays County. Updated data will be added to the top of this story each evening around 6 p.m.

Hays County health officials on Friday said multiple walk-up vaccination opportunities will be available in the area throughout the next few weeks. More than 86% of the county's population over 65 years old have now received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services. More than 67,000 people in the county are now fully vaccinated, according to state health officials. Residents who have trouble with COVID-19 vaccine pre-registration online can call Hays County's vaccination help line at 833-521-2766 from noon to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday. Live Oak Health Partners Community Clinic in partnership with the Hays County Local Health Department will offer appointment-free first dose COVID-19 vaccines to residents on May 3 and 4 from 8 to 11:30 a.m. and from 1 to 4 p.m.
