Ontario County Public Health: 23 new COVID-19 cases Thursday

HOPEWELL — Ontario County Public Health is reporting 23 new community-acquired COVID-19 cases but no news deaths Thursday.

Since the start of the pandemic, 5,589 Ontario County residents have been diagnosed with COVID-19 and 100 people have died. The last death was reported Feb. 10.

Many of the new cases are related household contacts, a college student, and a few community cases. One case was identified through yesterday’s asymptomatic testing event.

There are 227 COVID-19 positive individuals who are being isolated. This is in addition to 322 mandatory quarantines (contacts of positive cases), totaling 549 in the isolation and quarantine category.

There are 27 people in the hospital.

With 15 recoveries reported in the last 24 hours, 5,269 recoveries have been reported since the start of the pandemic.
