Ontario County Public Health: 23 new COVID-19 cases Monday

HOPEWELL — Ontario County Public Health is reporting 23 new community-acquired cases of COVID-19 but no new deaths Monday.

The new cases Feb. 15 bring the total number of Ontario County residents who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic to 5,517.

In that same time period, 100 people have died of COVID-19.

The new cases are related household contacts, many college students and community cases.

There are 251 COVID-19 positive individuals who are being isolated. This is in addition to 302 mandatory quarantines (contacts of positive cases), totaling 553 in the isolation and quarantine category.

Thirty-three people are in the hospital and with seven recoveries reported in the last 24 hours, 5,173 recoveries have been reported since the start of the pandemic.
