Ontario County Public Health: 17 new COVID-19 cases Thursday

HOPEWELL — Ontario County Public Health is reporting 17 new COVID-19 cases Feb. 11, but no new deaths.

The new cases reported Thursday bring the total number of Ontario County residents who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic to 5,436. One hundred people have died since last March.

Many of the new cases are related household contacts, college students and community cases.

There are 261 COVID-19 positive individuals who are being isolated. This is in addition to 368 mandatory quarantines (contacts of positive cases), totaling 629 in the isolation and quarantine category.

Thirty-one people are in the hospital.

With 44 recoveries reported Thursday, 5,082 recoveries have been reported since the start of the pandemic.
