Wilson County reports another COVID-19 facility outbreak

Sep. 14--Wilson County health officials reported a new COVID-19 facility outbreak at Spring Arbor. Wilson County Health Director Teresa Ellen said there are seven Spring Arbor residents and one facility employee, all of whom have tested positive for COVID-19.

Spring Arbor is located at 2045 Ward Blvd.

In a congregate living setting, a COVID-19 outbreak is defined as two or more laboratory-confirmed cases in either staff or residents. Since the pandemic began, Wilson County has reported nine facility outbreaks, four of which are still active.

WILSON COUNTY FIGURES

Wilson County reported 43 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases since Friday which includes Spring Arbor's residents and employee. That total also includes one new Wilson County Barton College case, county officials said.

Officials said there were 22 new cases reported Saturday, and 11 cases reported Sunday and 10 cases Monday.

There are currently 141 active COVID-19 cases in Wilson County with 120 people isolated at home and 21 people hospitalized due to COVID-19, according to Monday's figures.

About 91% of people who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in Wilson County have recovered. Since the pandemic began, Wilson County has reported 2,009 total cases.

STATEWIDE FIGURES

North Carolina added 845 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases Monday, according to data from the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services. The state's overall COVID-19 case tally came in at 185,781. There were 895 people hospitalized due to COVID-19, state officials reported Monday. The state's overall death toll stood at 3,060 Monday.
